Important updates on Thinkstock

With Thinkstock retiring in mid-2019, we no longer sell subscriptions or image packs. For further image needs, go to Getty Images and iStock by Getty Images, where you'll enjoy access to the best images that were available on Thinkstock, plus more.

How will this affect my current subscription or image packs?
If you have a current image pack, you have until mid-May 2019 to use your remaining downloads before we retire Thinkstock. You'll lose any remaining downloads left in your pack at that time.

What happens when my monthly subscription ends or my image pack runs out of downloads?

When your subscription or image pack expires we invite you to check out iStock – you’ll get all the best images from Thinkstock, plus:

  • Millions of images and videos you won’t find anywhere else
  • Buy as little as one image, with no minimum purchase, at great low prices
  • Save with flexible subscriptions from 10 to 750 downloads/month
  • No daily download limits

Check out iStock and save 20% off on your first order when you use the promo code: THINKSTOCK20 Limited time offer. May only be used one time.

What happens when my 1-year subscription ends?

Once your 1-year subscription ends you'll get a special offer to move to a Getty Images Premium Access subscription that will give you all the things you love about Thinkstock, plus the benefits of Getty Images.

We’re retiring Thinkstock so we can focus on bringing you more spectacular images, flexible plans, enhanced features and integrated tools on Getty Images and iStock by Getty Images.

When is Thinkstock retiring?
We'll be retiring Thinkstock in mid-May 2019. As a result, we no longer sell or renew any subscriptions or image packs. If you have a current image pack, you have until mid-2019 to use your remaining downloads before we retire Thinkstock.

What happens to my previous downloads?

If you have a 1-year subscription, your previous downloads will still be accessible to you on Thinkstock until the site is shut down at the end of June 2019. In advance of that, if you have an active Premium Access subscription, we will move your previous Thinkstock downloads over to Getty Images so you’ve got everything you need after Thinkstock is retired.

If you have a monthly subscription, your previous downloads will still be accessible to you on Thinkstock until the site is shut down at the end of June 2019 or your monthly subscription expires.

What happens if my subscription doesn't expire before the site retirement date?
In rare cases, some subscriptions may not expire before the end of June 2019, as they were purchased before the decision to retire Thinkstock.

Contact a sales representative to learn about your options if your subscription expires after the June 2019 retirement date.

What happens to my current lightboxes?
You can continue to access your lightboxes on Thinkstock until the end of June 2019. Because the best Thinkstock images also live on Getty Images and iStock, you can search by the Thinkstock image ID to find the same images on those sites.

What is Getty Images Premium Access?
Getty Images Premium Access is a yearly subscription that has a lot of the same features as a Thinkstock 1-year subscription, plus new benefits you can only find at Getty Images. Contact a sales representative for more details.

Why can’t I just keep my Thinkstock 1-year subscription until the site goes away?
If you have an active 1-year subscription you can continue to use it until it expires. After that, we will help you make the move to Getty Images Premium Access so you can retain access to your existing content and get additional features.

Do Getty Images and iStock have the same content as Thinkstock?
All of the best images from Thinkstock are available on Getty Images and iStock. A small percentage of the Thinkstock library is not available on iStock.
